Second Half Scoring Barrage Leads Hornets To Shutout Over Galeton

The Wellsboro Boys Soccer team shut out Galeton, 5-0, thanks to a foul-goal second period on Tuesday evening.
Junior Octavian Wyman put the Hornets in front midway through the opening half on an unassisted goal. The score remained 1-0 in favor of Wellsboro until the second half started. Then, the flood gates opened.
Junior Gabe Cuneo got things started in under two minutes in the second half as he converted a pass from sophomore Liam Stevens for a goal. Not even four minutes later senior Colin Fletcher scored unassisted to make it a 3-0 game before he assisted fellow senior Mason Brill to increase the lead to 4-0 with just over 31 minutes to go.
Brill then assisted sophomore James Doughtie for the Hornets' final goal of the game with just under 30 minutes remaining.
Wellsboro out shot the Tigers 23-4 and edged them 7-5 in corner kicks.
Junior Camden Bryant made 3 saves in goal for the clean sheet.
The win improves the Hornets to 4-1-1 (4-1 NTL). The team is back in action Thursday evening against Athens.
