Wellsboro and rival North Penn-Mansfield played to a 1-1 double overtime draw on Wednesday afternoon.

"I'm proud of the way our girls battled on the road against a red-hot Mansfield team," head coach Michael Reese said. "One tough bounce led to their goal, but we responded well and created chances. We just couldn't get that second one to fall, but the effort and composure were there from start to finish."

The Lady Hornets scored the game's first goal with 7:28 left in the first half as sophomore Kate Bryant scored off a pass from sophomore Carly Blackwell. The Lady Tigers later tied the game up with 27:46 remaining. Neither team scored the rest of regulation or the two 10-minute overtime periods, resulting in a draw.

Wellsboro out shot Mansfield 17-10 and had a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks. Junior Jadyn Dunlap made 9 saves in goal for the Lady Hornets while Avalon Rew stopped 16 shots for the Lady Tigers.

The JV game ended in a 0-0 draw.

Wellsboro (10-5-1, 8-4-1) hosts Loyalsock Saturday morning.
