The Wellsboro Junior High Soccer team cruised to a 9-0 win over Galeton on Saturday, October 12, scoring seven 2nd half goals.

"We were fighting for every inch on that field the 1st half and we finally were able to crack the defense on the 2nd half," head coach Derek Stevens said. "Our movement on the field the 2nd half was impressive to witness."

Liam Stevens found the back of the net 13 minutes into the game off a pass from Haylie Smith, then later scored with 9:24 remaining, assisted by Cody Tomlinson, to put Wellsboro up 2-0 at the half.

The young Hornets then opened the flood gates in the second half, beginning with a Gage Baltzley goal 4:44 in. Wellsboro then scored five goals in the span of six minutes by Stevens (2), Smith (3), and Owen Miller. Stevens, Smith, and Sarah Schea assisted on the goals.

Wellsboro out shot Galeton 24-2 on the afternoon, with Braydyn Lehman saving both Tiger shots.

Wellsboro (13-1) hosts Towanda on Wednesday and Williamson this Friday for their final two games of the season.
