On Saturday, February 22, the Wellsboro Boys Soccer team held the "Hornet Cup at the Hive" indoor soccer tournament.

Eight teams with a total of 50 students in grades 6-8 participated as players during the all-day event. Members of the high school boys soccer team worked in pairs to coach one of the eight teams, with the championship match ending in an exciting 6-5 double overtime score that concluded around 3:45 p.m.

"It was enjoyable to see all the preparation come to fruition today," head coach Todd Fitch said. "We set out to raise funds for team camp while hoping to provide a fun day of indoor soccer. Thanks to our participants and sponsors, we are able to make a sizeable contribution toward team camp. Based on my observations throughout the day, I think the event was also successful in providing a fun AND full day of indoor soccer for each player."
