Lady Hornet Soccer shuts out Troy

The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Soccer team shut out Troy 3-0 on Wednesday, September 23.

The Lady Hornets got two goals in the first half and never looked back in the win. Junior Kelsey Logan scored the game's first goal in the sixth minute and senior Jenny Young scored two minutes later. Senior Brynn Ripley scored in the 44th minute in the second half for the game's final goal.

Seniors Lindsey Graver and Sarah Ingerick each had assists on the night and sophomore Kailee Clymer recorded 20 saves in goal for her third shut out of the year.

Wellsboro and Troy were even in corner kicks with 5 each, but Troy out shot Wellsboro 20-18.

Troy won the JV game 3-0.

With the win, the Lady Hornets improve to 3-2-1 (2-2-1). The team will be back in action on Saturday, September 26 as they travel to Lakeland for a non-league matchup.
