MS Hornets take 2nd place in tournament

The Middle School soccer team closed out the 2011 season by taking 2nd place in the Northern Tier Junior High Soccer Tournament at Williamson last weekend. There was a combined total of nine teams in the tournament battling for supremacy of the league.
The Hornets tied Galeton, and defeated Williamson, Liberty, and Athens to go undefeated during pool play. Moving on to the semi-finals, the Hornets defeated Williamson to earn a spot in the championship game. At the championship game, Wellsboro fought hard, but in the final 10 minutes of play they lost to their rivals from Athens 1-0.
It was a great day for the Hornets, with many highlights from both the team and individuals. At the end of the day, the Hornets came home with the second place trophy.
